INFORMATION ABOUT THE  PARADE

India Day is a community fair which showcase Indian culture, traditions, and heritage.  This year, the community fair will take place on August 5th at HACC, Harrisburg from 10am to 7pm.  The fair promotes unity, cultural exchange, and pride among the Indian community while inviting people from other community to experience and appreciate Indian culture.

During this fair, we are planning for a wide range of activities and attractions that highlight different aspects of Indian culture. These may include cultural performances, local food stalls, vendor stalls, kids’ activities, guest speakers, community engagement and state parade.  In this email, we will cover the Parade.

We appreciate the following local leading organizations for their participation in the parade:

India is known for its vibrant and diverse culture, and one of the ways this diversity is celebrated is through parades.  Parades in India often coincide with various festivals, cultural events, or national celebrations, and each state has its own unique traditions and customs associated with these parades.  This year, the theme of parade is Cinema.

India has a rich and vibrant film industry, which produces the largest number of films in the world. Besides Bollywood, there are several regional film industries in different states of India that have their own distinct styles and contribute significantly to Indian cinema.  Regional industries have unique storytelling, powerful performances, melodious music, and magnificent productions.  Parade participating organizations will highlight some of the regional film industries and Bollywood.

This colorful cultural parade will give you India’s tour.
