India Day, a Community Fair

Free Admission, Free Parking and Open to All
Finally, the wait is over and a Community Fair, India Day is on Saturday, August 6, 2022. It will be perfect way to spend time outdoors with friends, family, and well with the whole community! And experience India in a day with Indian culture, food, entertainment, shopping and much more.
Khelo India: This year’s India Day, a community Fair has many exciting activities for kids/youth. There will be Robotics, Math 24 and Carrom Competitions. These competitions are open to all ages. You can participate in these competitions and win the first, second or third price. Please register below.
Price is Right, Guess the Price - Win the Prize. Everyone can participate where you compete by guessing the prices of merchandise to win exciting prizes. We are conducting this fun event throughout the day in intervals between 2pm to 5pm. Register at AIACPA info booth on August 6th at the fair.
Eleven food vendors: There will be eleven food vendors with a varied range of flavor and dishes for you to try. All vendors are local to Greater Harrisburg Area so you may already know the great taste from most of them and if not, this is great opportunity to know and support your local business. Food vendors are: Bala Saahas; Banana Leaf Indian Cuisine; Bollywood Indian Fusion; Foltz's; Honest Indian Restaurant; Hyderabad Guys; Indigo Foods USA; Milo’s Tea Company; Sampriti (Bengali Sweets); Sarah's Creamery LLC and Tuskers Indian Fusion Restaurant
Outdoor Entertainment Program: The local talent will be performing live on stage where you can enjoy a scintillating and mesmerizing show of over 150 super talented performers in more than 30 dance routines and live singing. There will be live music, live singing, dancing and live band playing all day long. All of this is FREE.
India Day Parade (11:30 am): There are 15 organizations participating and will showcase some of India’s cultural diversity. These groups will show off their regional costumes, songs and dance. This colorful cultural parade will give you India’s tour in one hour - open and free to everyone. Contact your regional committee to join. Dress up in your traditional Indian outfits and be part of your contingent. The nonprofit organizations are participating in the parade are: AIACPA, Association of Bengalis in Harrisburg Area (ABHA); Association for Greater Harrisburg North Indians (AGHNI); Anandam, HARI; Harrisburg Area Tamil Sangam (HATS); Harrisburg Gujarati Association of CPA (HGAofCPA); Harrisburg Telugu Association (HTA, Andhra Pradesh); Harrisburg Telugu Association (HTA, Telangana); Harrisburg Kannada Association (HaKKa); Maharashtra Mandal Central PA (MMCPA); Harrisburg Odia Group (Odisha); Penn State University, Harrisburg Campus; Professional Women and Women Entrepreneurs (POWER), Sampriti - Cultural Society of Central Pennsylvania and Cumberland Valley School Marching Band.
Special Performances (After 6 PM), Open floor for all of us to show our dance talent. Surprised dance and Zumba. Please watch the Flash Mob who might pounce next to you! You will also see the incredible India Performance – over 25 members performing to the Aazadi ki Amrit Mahotsav.
Shop for Indian Art, jewelry & apparel, Explore and try Henna tattoo & cosmetics, and meet your local Service Providers. Vendors list is available at www.IndiaDayPA.org.

When you hear of a fair, first thing you think of is what all will be there to eat. Well, you are in for a treat. Indian cuisine encompasses a wide variety of regional cuisines native to India. Given the range of diversity in culture and traditions, these cuisines vary significantly from each other. This event provides the opportunity to explore and taste many of the traditional Indian dishes.
Food items: Aalu Tikki, Samosa, Aloo Bonda, Papri Chat, Pani Poori, Ragra Patties, Dahi Bhalla, Dhokla, Chhole Bhature, Raj Kachori, Manchurian, Biryani: Chicken, Lamb, Vegetarian, Indian Barbeque: Paneer, Chicken, Kebab, Dosa, Idli, Lemon Rice, Rice Pilaf, Sambhar, Indian Pizza and more
Dessert: Rasgulla, Gulab Jamun, Jalebi, Famous Bengali Sweets, Ice cream, and more
Drinks: Tea, Mango Lassi, Water, Soda

Robotics Challenge
Robotics competitions can be open to kids of all ages! STEM contests where kids can hone their skills and show off their knowledge. STEM is an evolving field in the world, and to showcase the skills of
our community, the challenge is meant for kids to show how they use science and

Math24 Competition –

When you hear of a fair, you think of is what else is there? Since it is India Day, what kind of entertainment can I expect? Well, we have a lineup of activities which will keep you entertained for the whole day with variety of entertainment programs. “Visit India In 8 Hours - free.

Parade of the States (11:30 AM) – To showcase some of India’s cultural diversity, we have 16+ groups who will show off their regional costumes, songs and dance. This colorful cultural parade will give you India’s tour in one hour - open and free to everyone.
Special Performances (All day) – Nope, we are not done yet! To add more flavor and energy to the awaited India Day, there will be Surprise performances throughout the day. Beware of the Mob who might pounce next to you!
